BTO-22 Razor Barbed Wire

BTO-22 is one of the most commonly used razor wire profiles for medium- to high-security perimeters. Its balanced blade size and spacing provide an effective deterrent while allowing compact coil packing for efficient transport and installation.

Manufactured from high-tensile galvanized or stainless-steel core wire with precision-stamped razor blades, BTO-22 is suitable for use in concertina coils, flat wraps, or straight-line barriers. The product complies with EN 10223-7 and ASTM A121 standards for coating and tensile performance.

Typical specifications:

  • Blade type: BTO-22 (Barbed Tape Obstacle)

  • Blade thickness: 0.5 ± 0.05 mm

  • Core wire diameter: 2.5 ± 0.05 mm

  • Coil diameters: 450 mm, 610 mm, 730 mm, 980 mm

  • Material options: Hot-dip galvanized steel / Stainless 304 / Stainless 316

  • Tensile strength: 1200–1600 MPa

  • Zinc coating: ≥ 200 g/m² (for HDG version)

  • Coverage per 450 mm coil: approx. 8–10 m (depending on stretch)

  • Packaging: Compact coils wrapped in moisture-resistant film and strapped on pallets

Applications:

Airports • Military bases • Oil & Gas sites • Prisons • Industrial facilities • Border fencing

BarrierPro supplies BTO-22 coils pre-clipped or un-clipped, ready for installation, with full technical documentation and test certificates available upon request.

Our Product range

1

Flat razor barbed wire

A simple spiral of razor wire that expands like a spring.

  • No clips between loops — lighter and easier to install.

  • Used for standard security fences, construction sites, or walls.

  • Common diameters: 450–900 mm.

2

Cross (Clipped) Concertina

Two razor wire coils are interlinked with metal clips at regular intervals.

  • Forms a dense, interwoven barrier that’s very hard to pass through.

  • Provides maximum security for prisons, borders, and military sites.

  • Typical diameters: 450–1100 mm.

3

Flat wrap coils

A flat version of concertina wire — loops are compressed into a panel-like form.

  • Doesn’t protrude outward, ideal for urban areas or wall-tops.

  • Offers a clean look while keeping anti-climb protection.

  • Often installed on existing fences or gates.
