Introduction

In 2024-2025, BarrierPro FZ LLC achieved one of the largest razor wire supply missions in modern perimeter security history:

100,000+ coils of BTO-17 razor barbed wire manufactured, loaded, exported, and delivered to Europe.

It was a project that demanded speed, precision in logistics, strong manufacturing capacity, and 100% reliability — there was no room for delays or quality failures. This case study tells the inside story of how we planned, produced, and delivered a massive amount of razor wire across multiple borders and into an active conflict zone, while maintaining full compliance with export regulations and documentation.

About the Project

In early 2023, BarrierPro was contacted to supply razor barbed wire for critical infrastructure and emergency perimeter reinforcement.

Project requirements:

  • Razor wire type: BTO-17 (medium blade profile)

  • Coil diameter of 1100 MM and lenght of 20m

  • Total quantity: 100,000 coils

  • Delivery method: multi-stage containerized shipping

  • Destination: Europe

Most suppliers declined — either lacking the scale, documentation readiness, or logistics experience.

BarrierPro took it on.

Why BTO-17 Was Chosen

BTO-17 is a razor wire type with a medium blade profile, ideal for rapid deployment.

Specifications:

  • Blade length: 17 mm

  • Core wire: high-carbon galvanized steel

  • Coil diameters produced: 1100 mm

  • Clip type: hot-dip galvanized steel

Primary benefits for rapid perimeter protection:

  • Easy to transport

  • Quick installation

  • Effective physical and visual deterrence

Scale of Manufacturing

To fulfill 100,000 coils, our manufacturing partners operated on:

  • 24/7 production schedules

  • Multiple parallel stamping lines

  • Automated concertina winding machinery

  • Production QC checkpoints every 500 coils

Every coil was:

  • weighed,

  • measured,

  • blade-count verified,

  • labeled with batch and production date.

No compromises on quality — not even at this scale.

Logistics Execution

Shipping razor wire into a conflict-affected regions requires detailed planning.

Export logistics included:

  • Documentation for steel security materials

  • Customs declaration and transit permits

  • Coordination with border warehouses

  • Staged distribution for different regions

Transport mode: Containerized freight

Loading point: Customes warehouse hub in Eastern Europe

Each shipment was scanned, photographed, and digitally logged.

Not a single container missed its delivery schedule.
